The holy trinity of circular entrepreneurship
Michel Schuurman, Sr. Programme manager Circular Economy MVO Netherlands
When people think of circular entrepreneurship they often think of closing material loops. This process usually starts by rethinking your waste management. What else can I do with it? Sometimes we think about how we ended up with waste in the first place, after which we change our materials and designs.
And soon you will come to the conclusion that when you create something that seems suitable for a closed-loop approach, it will often happen as such. Ergo; the circular economy becomes reality. But unfortunately in practice this is not always the case. A design cannot stand on its own, we still need two other crucial elements. Which ones are those? Listen to this Talk.
One of Michel Schuurman’s responsibilities within MVO Netherlands is to set up and manage programmes and projects in the fields of circular economy and climate. He is also the primary contact person for the Green Deals between (groups of) companies and the Dutch government. His focus area and contribution is in innovative processes but also in creating the right circumstances for realisation and upscaling.
