Everybody wants reliable furniture. Whether it concerns your workstations, waiting areas, reception area or conference rooms; your employees, clients and business relations must be able to get the most out of their interior. Proper and well-timed maintenance will ensure that your furniture stays at its highest utility, both in terms of quality and functionality as well as in aesthetics.

Intensive use

Your furniture gets used intensively. At the same time, it needs to function properly every time it gets used. A faulty chair, a workstation that no longer adjusts in height, a power or data outlet that no longer works… it not only costs valuable time, it is also very frustrating. Organisations that have adopted a flexible working method have one other thing to consider. Who is supposed to report a broken or worn out piece of furniture when it gets used by multiple people? Well-timed maintenance will prevent problems from arising.

‘After a tender procedure in 2015, Gispen was awarded the contract for maintenance and management of all the furniture for all NS locations. Gispen carries out preventive maintenance of the furniture that is present on site. Whenever new furniture is delivered, they carry out corrective maintenance. They are really helpful in coming up with the best solutions. A good example of this is a case we had at a location in Arnhem where we had some sofas with backrests that were too low. They altered the backrests specially for us. Gispen is always very involved.’

What can you expect?

Gispen provides a maintenance service for all your products. This includes furniture delivered by suppliers other than Gispen. We provide three types of maintenance: Firstly, preventive maintenance: we ensure a longer product lifecycle by carrying out periodic check-ups of your furniture. Secondly, corrective maintenance: when something breaks or no longer functions properly, we immediately take care of it – always on site. Lastly, our cleaning service: by cleaning your furniture on a regular basis, we extend the product lifecycle. We always try to find the right time for maintenance to take place in order to not disturb your daily activities, during holiday periods, for example. An annual preventive round of maintenance will suffice in most cases.

How can you benefit from this service?

An interior that will last for years on end, as well as a full service for your furniture. Whether your furniture comes from Gispen or from other suppliers – we can provide the maintenance. A service during which you will have one single point of contact for all your enquiries. If your furniture is still under warranty, for example, we will make sure that the maintenance is carried out while you are still covered. Such activities will of course be done in close collaboration with your facility manager, if your organisation has one.

Pieces of furniture are either given a green label (good condition), orange label (slightly damaged) or red label (replace and/or recycle).

MAINTENANCE PROPOSAL

You will be presented with a maintenance plan, which we will discuss with you personally. Based on a user analysis and a furniture life expectancy, we will give recommendations on a preventive maintenance schedule. Carrying out corrective maintenance and cleaning can also be discussed at this stage.

TO WORK

We will get to work for you according to the agreements of the contract. You are appointed a single point of contact: someone who you can direct all of your questions to regarding the maintenance of your furniture. Someone you can always call when something needs repairing unexpectedly.

EVALUATION

We will also plan periodic evaluation meetings, during which we can discuss the state of affairs in terms of maintenance and assess whether you have any new wishes or requirements we can fulfil.
