Fontys Sports College
The building breathes sport
The building breathes sport. The sports theme continues throughout the interior and furniture. The energy-efficient and sustainable building designed by Mecanoo architects excels in innovation and transparency. Fontys switched over to an activity-related interior for its education and office section of the building. The furnishing supports this goal. Gispen translated the housing concept into a fitting interior design.
The office- and teachers’ area is furnished with Ellen Lounge and Cubic, which are in line with the demands of The New Way of Working. The workstations can be used for various activities including concentrated working, working together and meeting one another.
Ellen Lounge as well as CubiC is built up from perforated panels with acoustic filling, which contribute to pleasant acoustics in the open office spaces.
Consultation & project management
‘Listening closely to your client’s wishes, that is how every project starts off. In my many years of experience in this industry, I have learned that this determines whether an interior design is successful or not. Asking the right questions and getting to the point is the next step, which you take together. Contributing to better education gives me a lot of positive energy.’
Tailor-made & lounging
The robust tables with head-end side panels and integrated table football were tailor-made for Fontys, resulting in a contemporary look in combination with the More or Less chairs.
The hallways offer many seats for students. Integrated train compartments and open project rooms are interspersed with commonly used lounge varieties.
The Clubdesks in the multimedia centre offer comfort; people study in peace and quiet.
