‘After receiving Gispen’s proposal we knew exactly what we wanted’

‘After receiving Gispen’s proposal we knew exactly what we wanted’

Rabobank Utrecht

In a time where people search for the right work-life balance, Rabobank strives to be a forerunner when it comes to The New Way of Working. The office space must be fully compatible with this innovative, flexible workplace concept.

The New Way of Working ((Rabo Unplugged) assumes that employees operate in the same way as entrepreneurs do, determining themselves when and where they carry out their tasks. The interior and its different kinds of workstations facilitate that. Employees no longer have their own fixed workstations. In short this means more collaboration, more responsibility, more entrepreneurship and fewer rules.

Activity-related working

The ground floor is the central meeting place of the building: a large urban-type open office landscape with multiple functions. The different kinds of work environments and workstations at the,  even by European standards, large office all support different activities: coming together, holding a meeting, presenting, working together, working individually and focused working.

The client’s thoughts

At Rabobank the client always comes first. Our main goal is to contribute to making their ambitions reality. We therefore invest in building a good and long-lasting relation with our clients. Offering suitable products and services plays a vital role in this, but thinking about the future is just as important.

‘The fact that we chose Gispen as our supplier of workstations has everything to do with vision, experience and the complete proposal that was put forward’

Designing the office furniture for Rabobank was a process of co-creation. Sander Architects worked closely together with Gispen in developing the new Ellen Lounge and CubiC office furniture lines. The Ellen Lounge workstations are well-suited for focused working but can just as easily be used for working together.

The CubiC workstation is based on an existing model of Gispen, which was further developed to suit multiple applications and activities. With CubiC you can form long tables at which 4 to 6 people can work. By installing low or high acoustic-enhancing cushions, you can create workstations with a little more, or less privacy. By adding wall legs to the single- or dual workstations you can create some more privacy.
