Gispen - Casala - FP Collection - Richard Hutten

Casala is known for contract furniture, furniture to be deployed where design is to prove its functional worth: in congress halls and churches, at offices, universities and government agencies, and in care centres. As you can see, Casala's contract furniture could be used for many different purposes.

At the age of seventeen Richard Hutten (1967) enrolled for the Design Academy Eindhoven. He was part of the class of 1991, where among others Jurgen Bey also was part of. During his graduation year, Hutten started his own studio. Richard earned his reputation with quirky and playful concepts like No Sign of Design and Table on Table, earning him international acclaim. With his clear and often comic designs, he is considered as one of the leading exponents of Dutch Design. Hutten’s work is displayed in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Museum of Modern Art, the Vitra Museum and the Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
