Contracts as guideline

'Contracts are becoming increasingly important as a guideline for our cooperation with clients. Previously, it only contained agreements about, for example, delivery time and guarantees. Nowadays, the focus is on the percentage of reuse or revitalization and clients give us sustainable objectives.'

Logistical puzzle

'A circular project takes more time and attention at the front end, it's a puzzle. Especially with large clients with multiple locations. Sometimes furniture is still in use or not all furniture is released at the same time. Some customers have one or more storage units. So there is more logistics and coordination involved. We prefer to put that puzzle together with all parties. A circular design therefore involves many discussions and intensive cooperation in advance.'

Directing role

'We are happy to take on the directing role, as we do for one of our clients, a government agency. Because we are a manufacturer and supplier, but above all an expert in the field of circular solutions. As a director, we coordinate the process. Together with the moving party and interior architect, we make a plan and present it to the customer. That whole process is going so well that it now serves as a blueprint for other clients.'

Saving costs

'I am convinced that you save costs with our circular approach, even if you lose more hours in advance. This is also reflected in our calculations. Because demand is rising, we are revitalizing more and more furniture, making more and more circular products and improving our circular production processes. My wish for the future? That, in addition to reusing as much as possible, our new products consist of 100% non-virgin (not new) raw materials. If we achieve that, then we will have reached another fantastic milestone.'
