Goodbye waste, we design without discarding
'Those who design with vision, draw for the future.' - W.H. Gispen
'Together with customers and users of the working environment, we investigate the role of the office. The world is changing. Ways of working are changing. Ways of furnishing change with it. And that is why our Gispen Interior Design Vision is also part of it. The basis and strong principles remain intact. But in 2024, we will have reinvented ourselves and our Gispen furnishing vision: 'Not just the office – More than the office'.
'The ideal working environment is more than a variety of spaces. The interior that Gispen wants to create together with all those involved is more than just an office. More than ever, reuse and refurbishment form the basis of this design vision. We see the challenges that this entails as opportunities. Step-by-step, but circular and flexible. And with our extensive toolkit and experts, clients and users , we work together to create an interior design in which the user is always at the center. For places where the future truly matters, we also have a Gispen Interior Design Vision'More than education' and 'More than care'.
Surprise and Tranquility
'The spaces we aim to create together with our clients are more than just offices. People spend a lot of time at work, often even more than at home. For this ‘second home,’ they therefore have needs that go beyond purely work-related ones. Think of space for meeting, connecting, and collaborating, but also for concentration or taking a moment to reset between tasks. People want to be inspired and surprised by things like games, art, and nature. Or they may be seeking tranquility instead. Needs differ by user and can also vary from moment to moment. That’s why we conduct extensive research on this within every design project.'
'The places we create together with clients and users are more than just offices.'
Circular Collaboration
'We work according to a circular design and furnishing process*. A completely new interior and discarding furniture that no longer fits is a thing of the past. We are based on preservation, maximum reuse and renewal of existing interior elements. Where necessary, combined with circularly designed, new furniture. For the best result, we prefer to be involved as early as possible. Sketch designs and preliminary designs go back and forth several times, until we reach a final design with the desired look and feel together with the client. So that is also a circular process.'
It never ends
'How does a design work in practice? Do we need to make adjustments somewhere? These are important questions, because our Design Vision does not stop at completion. We offer explanations, training and online instructions for users of our products, collect feedback, conduct satisfaction surveys. We not only want to make sure that users are happy with their new working environment, but also ensure that an interior lasts as long as possible.'
VISIT THE CIRCULAR EXPERTISE CENTRE
We are happy to receive relations in the Circular Hub . In an interactive session, visitors will get an insight into the practice of circular design. With explanations of sustainable customer cases and concrete practical examples of revitalization. And of course a tour of the Circular Hub. Our circular consultants advise on site on the revitalization of our own furniture and the reduction of CO2.
