ISO certificates

ISO 9001 and 14001 are important standards for our management systems. ISO 9001 is the standard that sets requirements for the quality management system. ISO 14001 sets requirements for our environmental management system. Both ISO certificates are valid for three years. Every year, Bureau Veritas assesses Gispen on a number of important themes through an audit.

Quality and environmental care

Good quality management stands for: saying what you do, doing what you say, and proving it. The ISO 9001 certificate is our burden of proof. With an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard, we manage the environmental risks of our business operations. In fact, we aim to reduce these risks wherever possible.

Five themes

Five themes have been formulated for both ISO standards. We are assessed in these areas every year. 

  • Stakeholder management: the way we deal with all key stakeholders
  • Compliance management: the system we use to meet all requirements
  • Leadership and governance: our administrative structure, including accountability for any risks
  • Risk management: the way in which we deal with opportunities and threats (a risk inventory is an important requirement)
  • Link between strategy and operational operations: to what extent are both management systems vertically integrated throughout the organization?

ISO 45001

Gispen has had an ISO 45001 certification since 2019; it specifies requirements for a management system for health and safety at work (H&S). This new standard is based on Annex SL: a High Level Structure (HLS) or a framework that can be applied to all management systems. This helps to speak one language by all standards.

It is a tool to systematically implement the legal obligation for employers to ensure the safety and health of employees. We have also been awarded VCA certificates for the installation and service of project furniture. This means that we have the safety, health and environmental management system around these processes in order and that the employee is aware of the safety regulations.
