Shaping the primary education environment
Since 2017, Astrid Ebbers has been designing learning environments for primary and secondary education at Gispen. Inspired by nature, the environment and the vision of the school, flexible, sustainable and future-oriented designs are created. With multifunctional furniture, circular choices and an eye for well-being, Astrid creates inspiring learning environments together with schools.

We consider an optimal learning environment to be rich, powerful and meaningful. It allows for ownership & creativity, promotes cooperation & experimentation and encourages to engage in activities. This demands a supportive and versatile interior design. An educational vision or concept provides direction for shaping the education you provide. Our school's educational vision has therefore been a good point starting point for designing a suitable interior layout.

An educational vision or concept provides direction for shaping the education you provide. Our school's educational vision has therefore been a good point starting point for designing a suitable interior layout. The general principle here is: ‘Form follows content’.
Co-creation
Education is formed together and a school's interior is designed together. We follow a clearly defined and transparent step-by-step plan in which we work together with the school's team from start to finish. One of the steps, for example, is to hold a Mood Board session, followed by an Experience visit to our showroom and even a tour of our school furniture factory. This is how your school’s interior will take shape before your eyes.

In practice
And then the day arrives when you receive your new school furniture! The furnishing process is then carried out as a joint effort. The logistics are perfectly organised. We know exactly where to place the furniture. Our Service and Assembly team takes care of any custom solutions. As an after service, our furnishing specialist makes an extra round of the premises together with the school principal. And as soon as everything is in perfect order, the school can open its doors.
After the final implementation, we tend to make another visit to the school. We’re curious to see how the pupils, parents, teachers and other staff members are enjoying the interior.
