Healthy and safe use of materials
Our furniture is made of safe materials, so you can use it intensively in indoor spaces throughout the day. We make sure that the materials it is made of are healthy and strong. And we test our furniture extensively in different ways. How do we do that?
We analyse our materials for the presence of harmful substances according to the Cradle to Cradle protocol. For example, we assess our materials on the Restricted Substances List (RSL). And we constantly assess our suppliers on the Candidate List for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). This ensures that we comply with the latest international chemical regulations, such as EU REACH and RoHS.

Safe materials
Health for people and the environment is central to us. That is why we follow the Cradle to Cradle philosophy. This assumes that materials must first be safe in order to be circular. How do we ensure safe materials?
- We test them for health risks according to the requirements of the Material Health protocol of the Cradle to Cradle institute.
- We check for toxic chemicals and whether they are healthy for people and the environment.
- We periodically have them inventoried and tested against the Cradle to Cradle Restricted Substances List (RSL).
- We continuously assess our suppliers for SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern).
- We follow the REACH and RoHS regulations: if a substance on the candidate list exceeds the permitted limit, we start a process to phase out the material.
