Optimal service for a new interior
ROC Mondriaan opened the doors of a brand new school building. A place where functionality and tranquility go hand in hand. Gispen was a partner for the new interior design of the building from the design phase. Together with ROC Mondriaan, an inspiring learning environment was created that is practical, flexible and ready for the future.
The process started with an extensive work process scan. This started the inventory of the work and educational processes. Gispen interviewed stakeholders and the facilities department of ROC Mondriaan to get a good picture of the wishes and needs. Based on this, the interior architects developed a sketch design. Later this was worked out into a final interior plan. The functional layout of the building – tailored to the activities of education – was an important pillar in this.
ROC Mondriaan had a clear wish: an interior that exudes tranquility and at the same time stimulates cooperation and concentration. To achieve this, Gispen opted for a well-thought-out design with various work and collaboration areas. For example, Gispen HUGGs were installed in the learning squares for concentrated work and two Qabins were set up: a Chat Focus for individual work and a Qabin Call for undisturbed conversation with each other.
Each floor also has its own accent color, which contributes to a recognizable environment for students and staff. The interior is designed to be completely circular, with sustainable products such as Gispen TMNL tables, ZINN office chairs and TEAM tables. All lesson sets and canteen furniture are also supplied by Gispen, with extra attention to variety and comfort. "We did test sessions together with students and staff to select the perfect teaching chair," says Annelies. "In the end, we opted for a bucket seat that is flexible and comfortable."
The ROC Mondriaan experienced Gispen's extensive services as a great added value. Annelies. "The interior architects at Gispen were very cooperative and brought our wishes to life visually with mood boards and floor plans. In addition, there was always a dedicated project manager and an experienced foreman on site, who made sure that everything went according to plan."
Gispen also offered a lot of support during the implementation. "The team kept a close eye on the status of the project, was transparent about delivery times and always solved challenges quickly," Annelies adds. "This gave us a lot of confidence and made the whole process a lot nicer."
The collaboration between Gispen and ROC Mondriaan went smoothly and in harmony. "The best thing about this project was the trust we had in each other," says Ewout. "We worked together as partners, and saw challenges as something we had to solve together. That made all the difference." This trust was essential in deliveries and installation. Annelies: "During the relocation phase, for example, Gispen helped think about logistical solutions, such as the use of an outdoor lift. They switched quickly and solved everything adequately."
The new building of ROC Mondriaan is an inspiring and functional environment for students and colleagues. The soothing basic colours, in combination with well-thought-out accents and flexible workplaces, provide a fine balance between concentration and collaboration. "Gispen gave perfect advice and helped every step of the way. I look forward to working with them again in the future."
